2125.01 DESCRIPTION.
This work shall consist of the removal of excess earth material from side ditches in accordance with the contract documents.

2125.02 CONSTRUCTION.
The side ditches shall be shaped to produce smooth surfaces of the ditch and backslope which will conform to the typical section shown in the contract documents.

Materials excavated shall be used in building shoulders, widening embankment, or removed from the project as directed by the Engineer. In no case shall shoulder material be deposited on finished base or surface course.

Material used for widening embankments shall be placed and compacted in accordance with Article 2107.12. Material used for earth shoulders shall be placed, compacted, and shaped as provided in Section 2123.

2125.03 METHOD OF MEASUREMENT.
The quantity of Reshaping Ditches, in stations (meters), will be the quantity shown on the contract documents. The quantity of Reshaping Ditches will be determined along the bottom of the ditch.

2125.04 BASIS OF PAYMENT.
The Contractor will be paid the contract unit price for Reshaping Ditches per station (meter). This payment shall be full compensation for the reshaping ditches, and for removal or placement of the excavated material.
