2104.01 DESCRIPTION.
This work shall consist of the excavation of channels or removal of material involved in channel changes, or similar excavation not normal to Class 10 excavation, as shown in the contract documents and placement of this material as shown in the contract documents or as directed by the Engineer.

2104.02 CLASSIFICATION.
Channel excavation shall be classified as provided in Article 2102.02.

2104.03 METHOD OF MEASUREMENT.
The quantity to be paid for Channel Excavation will be the number of cubic yards (cubic meters) determined as prescribed in Article 2102.13.

2104.04 BASIS OF PAYMENT.
The quantity of excavation performed will be paid for at the contract unit price per cubic yard (cubic meter) for Channel Excavation. This payment shall be full compensation for excavating and placement of the material within the free haul limit of 1000 feet (300 m), and for furnishing all equipment, tools, labor, and incidentals necessary to complete the work.
